My first memories of Jordan began before grade school when we were both little choir boys singing soprano at Mountain View church.
Jordan was my best friend throughout kindergarten to grade 12. I think we took every single class together for all 13 years, every option in fact. We were very close.
Many of my memories of Jordan were of us playing on all the same sporting teams together growing up. He was an extremely athletic, talented, and gifted individual. Any time we needed a big play on the court or field, he would seem to come through with the play we needed.
The two of us spent many years together in the school band and choir, performing across British Columbia, Alberta, and Saskatchewan. On these school music tours, we were billeted into strangers’ homes, and believe me, there were some strange ones. But we won’t go into that any further!
I recall we would spend hours playing video games together usually over the weekend. Sometimes during the week we would continue playing online, even if we had a quiz or test in the morning.
One thing I recall about our friendship is that any time we were heading out of town on some kind of trip– whether it was camping, sports related, or musical–it was always an unspoken agreement that we would be rooming together. No one else would ask either of us. So in this way he was a very reliable and consistent friend to me.
Jordan was a great friend and a great man.
I have so many great memories with Jordan which I will hold on to forever.

P.S. Chantz’s reflections after seeing the photo above taken on Jordan’s 10th birthday:
“I remember this nerf gun! And the games… running around the basement over and over again! Jumping on the trampoline. Jo trying to teach me how to do a flip properly and him being so persistent to show me the mechanics of it. Thank you for sharing this.
Looking at this photo, many memories have come back from our early days. A much simpler time… I miss Jordan’s quirky but cool ways. His mannerisms. His sense of humour and his kindness.”
